SAS – Statistical Analysis System is developed by SAS Institute inc. SAS is developed for statistical analysis and all purpose of data analysis system.
Below are the functionalities of SAS.
- Data access – address the data required by the application.
- Data Management – shapes data into a form required by the application.
- Data analysis – summarizes, reduces, or otherwise transforms raw data into meaningful and useful information.
- Data representation – communicates information in ways that clearly demonstrate its significance.
A SAS Program has three main divisions.

- Proc Step
- Global Statements
